SCED 4200 Final Post

I thought this course taught me a lot of different ways that I can teach literacy in a Physical Education setting. It is kind of hard to do in a lot of situations since it is still a PE class but it can be done. One of the things that I think I liked the most about this course was how it was so different than the "traditional" class of lecture, exam, lecture, and exam. This style that we had in our class clearly shows how we can be different teachers and capture the attention of our students.

I really enjoyed the topic of digital literacy. As a group of PE teachers we looked at many different apps that would be applicable for us and how we could use them. I thought it would be a great idea for us as PE teachers to be able to incorporate a little bit of homework for the students to be able to find an app that they really enjoy and share it with the whole PE class and help each other become more active through some digital literacy. It is very important as PE teachers to be able to relate to the students and change or evolve as the world evolves. Digital literacy is very much a big part of everyone's lives now and there is no reason it can't be involved in PE as well as other classes.
